Spring Grove was chartered in 1845 and is one of the largest nonprofit cemeteries in the United States, and the most beautiful according to thousands of visitors who come to visit every year. There are 733 acres of which approximately 450 acres are developed. The lakes provide an excellent reflection of the bursting colors.
This is a magnificent picturesque property where photographers, runners and walkers are welcome ( while) showing respect for families visiting their loved ones.

The Butterfly Show returns for the 22nd year to Krohn Conservatory, operated by Cincinnati Parks and located in beautiful Eden Park. The show creates a captivating environment filled with 12,000 butterflies in free flight for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
This annual after hours event for photographers enables shooting with tripods and monopods.
K & R Photographics will be providing macro lenses and some special lighting for use at Krohn Conservatory’s night for photographers. BRING your own tripods and monopods.

Greenfield Plant Farms has invited OVCC members to photograph their flowers. What to expect. They are situated on eight acres at 726 Stephens Rd, Maineville Ohio. They have many greenhouses plus. They raise and sell flowers for the Cincinnati Zoo. Over 200 Annuals and over 500 perennials.
A TRIPOD AND MACRO LENS ARE SUGGESTED.
Unfortunately the Blue Herrons did not show up this year.
Their regular operating hours are Mon – Sat 10 to 4 pm and Sundays 11 – 4 pm. NOTE THIS IS A SPECIAL ADMISSION TIME PRIOR TO OPENING FOR THE PUBLIC. If you just cannot make it on a Sunday, you are welcome to stop by any time, just expect a lot of people during popular times.

PROGRAM: “Evaluating and Improving Your Photo” We will review and discuss various criteria for evaluating a photo. Based on that evaluation, we will make improvements to the photo using PhotoShop.
FINE PRINT: We can only guarantee critiquing your first image IF You Rename Your File Accordingly: it includes FIRST, your priority number 1, 2 or 3. Then your last name, first initial and Title of your image. NAME is required only for administrative Purposes. For Example: “1 Jones D Shadows” Deadline for submitting images will be 10:00 PM of the Friday prior to our meeting.
IMAGE SIZING: reduce all images to Resolution of 72, and, for horizontal images 1440 pixels wide. For vertical images 930 pixels high. • OFF TOPIC IMAGES will be deleted at the request of several members
BIO: RON WILSON Ron is a self-taught photographer. He has over 50 years of experience, including over 30 years as a photography instructor. Ron has a photography business, many publication credits and is an international award winning photographer. Ron is presently a member of Tripod Camera Club, Cleveland Photographic Society and Photographic Society of America. He is a competitor and has judged for these organizations. His photo interests are Amish Lifestyle, Dancers and Rodeo. Presently serving as an instructor at the Middletown Art Center. Scheduled Classes coming up are “Introduction to Photoshop” and “Fun with Photoshop.”

Please register by Sunday, April 25th IF you plan to submit photos.
***If the Greenfield Plant Farm is rained out on April 24 and moved to the back up date of May 1st, we will push this debrief back to Thursday, May 6th.
Since Mother Nature is unpredictable, feel free to take your photos at OVCC Spring Grove Cemetery Event, Greenfield Plant Farm Event or any location between now and Sunday, April 25th.
You will receive a message no later than the morning of Monday, April 26 indicating how many images can be submitted, which will be determined by the number of participants – so please hold off posting your photos until you receive the announcement.
