THOSE GOING, PLAN ON SOMETHING ELSE IN THE PARK OR WAYNESVILLE IN CASE THIS IS BOGUS.

9 15 2022
We have been unable over the past three weeks to confirm the activity is on as they advertise to do. The number given is to a volunteer Chamber of Commerce in Waynesville.
I was able to reach someone at Ceasar’s Creek this morning who stated while they do no show an activity, there indeed could be one through a group of volunteers.

I have a phone message in this morning to the lead person. Remain tuned for further word.

UC Water Skiing Competition -Open to all OVCC Members

Details

The OVCC has been offered an opportunity to photograph a University of Cincinnati Water Skiing Team competition vs. other regional school teams. This will be a rare opportunity to photograph ski jumping and tricks without having to drive to Florida! There is no charge to attend this event and parking is immediately behind a pavilion where you can shoot if you so desire.

Time: the competition runs from 8 am to 6 pm but we are recommending attending at 10 am or 2:30 pm to capture some of the best of the competition.

Sharing Images: we are requested to share our images with the students. After the event a SmugMug gallery will be created to allow the uploading of images which will then be shared with the students.

Directions: look for a blue gate with the title of Skiers Runway. Drive through the gate up a small hill and park behind the viewing pavilion.

Equipment: the skiers will be between 75 to 150 feet away when photographed. So bring the appropriate telephoto lens (thinking 70-200 mm should be adequate, maybe a bit more). This will be a good opportunity to practice shot panning if desired to introduce the sense of motion.

Sports Etiquette: once the competition is underway be sure to exercise good judgment and etiquette by moving your position if requested, and not distracting coaches or judges.

Bert Sirkin, creator of PhotoBert CheatSheets, has been teaching photography and post-processing topics for the past 40 years and has taught photography workshops nationally.

Layers in Photoshop, arguably one of the most powerful features in Photoshop, allows you to composite photos, work on specific areas of photos, and so much more. The workshop is intended for people with no experience using layers, or Lightroom and Photoshop users who aren’t as comfortable with layers as they would like to be. Bert will cover everything you need to know about layers, and how to best use them. This is an intensive class that will provide you with an outline and video that you’ll be able to reference over and over again until you become an expert with Photoshop layers.

Regardless of your experience with Lightroom or Photoshop, we’re sure you’ll leave with some great tips that will improve your editing. Here’s what’s covered in the workshop:
– What is a Photoshop Layer?
– Why Use Layers?
– The Layer Panel
– The Background Layer
– Creating New Layers
– Moving Layers
– Opacity & Transparency
– Layer Visibility
– Type Layers
– Layer Masks
– Smart Objects
– Blending Modes
– Linking Layers
– Layer Groups
– Compositing Layers, and more.

Signup for the Workshop here using this Event and an on-line Zoom meeting notice will be emailed to you 1-2 days before the event.
