2020 Maple Knoll Fall Exhibition Information

What: A Photo exhibit open to the public.
Where: Maple Knoll Village, 11100 Springfield Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246
When: The exhibit runs Thursday, September 17 through Thursday, October 29, 2020
Opening Reception: Likely not this year.

EXHIBITION THEMES WILL BE ARTISTIC or CINCINNATI.
Tip: when selecting your images people generally purchase what they relate to.

REQUIREMENTS:

” Any sales of images will be managed directly between the artist and Maple Knoll. Maple Knoll will retain a percentage of the sale price (30%), so price you images accordingly.
” Once you have been notified that your image has been selected, you will be required to download, print, and fill out a written form to attach to each piece selected for the show.
” Individuals will be notified which photos were selected via a group email announcement.
” Submissions – Each person may submit up to five (5) images for consideration ). About 50 – 60 photos will be chosen for participation. Deadline for submission is July 20th to Auguest 3rd up to midnight. Selections will be announced on Tuesday, August 18th.

” Drop Off – Selected finished works must be dropped off at Maple Knoll Village offices on September 14th – 15th, 9am-4:30pm or by appointment – call (513)782-2462.
” Pick Up – Unsold pieces must be picked up at Maple Knoll: November 2nd – 3rd, 9am-4:30pm or by appointment. Any prints left will be donated to charity.
” All photos must have hanging hardware of some sort when delivered (sawtooth hangers are acceptable). Attach a small label with your name and the title of the work and contact information somewhere on the back of each work. Also, you MUST fill out an entry form which MUST accompany each work in the exhibit. You will be notified where to download a copy of that form at a later date, so keep an eye on the event page for this exhibition.

HOW TO POST SUBMISSIONS:
” Please post your entries to the following website link: https://ovcc2.smugmug.com/upload/SRGnLH/ExhibitatMk2020
” Upload your photo without digital matting, framing or personal watermark. Images will be watermarked by the club during their stay on the SmugMug site. They will be viewable there only in large format and will have right click disabled.
” You do not have to upload large files to the site for consideration. Try to keep your file sizes reasonable. 1400 pixels on the long side is more than enough for consideration of acceptance. Your print is what you are selling, not the digital file. So, try and keep them under 8MB.
” SAVE your image in jpg format and title with Your Name, Title of Piece, Type of Medium, Outside Finished Dimensions of the Piece, Price, Your Email and Phone before uploading. Any image without contact information will not be considered and deleted from the Gallery. If you are already a Smug Mug User, be sure to log out of your own account before trying to post in OVCC’S account.
” After you have uploaded your images, CLICK ON “DONE” in the upper right hand corner.

Jeffrey Smith, Heavenward, color film print on canvas, 16×24, $150, [email protected], 513-555-1010

” Pricing information:
It’s important to consider your costs and the Maple Knoll cut when pricing your images. You should be able to profit a minimum of 10 to 30% after all the expenses to produce your work, including the Maple Knoll cut. This year it is 30%. Make sure you add at least 40% to the price, over and above what it cost you to produce the work.
