Minimalist photography focuses on simplicity & its artistic style can be encapsulated by the quote, “less is more.” Minimalist photographers achieve this effect by casting aside all the unnecessary components in creating their works.[10]
“As an approach in photography, minimalism or minimalistic photography could be taken by the photographer in all genres. No matter you are a portrait, architecture, landscape etc. photographer, minimalist photos are always an option as long as you have a minimal look toward your surroundings” -Milad Safabakhsh, Founder of Minimalist Photography Awards.[11]
Minimalist photography often features a single subject with nature as the background, or nature itself as both background and subject. Common motifs in minimalist works include geometric or repeating patterns, contrast in lines and texture, and emphasized depth and distance. This last element is often used to express a feeling of vastness and to try and capture the feeling of being in an incredibly open space in nature. Ref. Wikipedia.

PRESENTOR: LISA LANGRELL, Domestic, International Workshops. Previous Speaker. Lisa will be presenting live from Phoenix AZ.

CRITIQUE: Nature and Wildlife Images Open.

PRESENTATION: Photographing Abstracts: The techniques behind the best images.
Excellent Abstract photography doesn’t happen by chance. It is rarely the accidental blurred shot that works as an elite abstract image. It is through careful photography and technique where the best images are created.
So–expand your creativity! A whole new world of photography, creativity, and fun opens up when you break the boundaries of traditional imagery and explore photographing abstracts! I will teach you the techniques behind creating the best images.
Abstract photography is all about taking the everyday objects and transforming them into something creative and mostly unrecognizable in comparison to their original form. Through instruction, videos, audience-interaction and inspiration from your instructor and fellow participants, you will learn:

· How to apply basic compositional guidelines while using your creativity and vision to create abstract images
· How to use intentional camera motion (ICM) and motion blur
· Patterning and its application to abstract photography
· How contrast, shadows, color theory, textures, edges, and more can help you design images that are artistic, ethereal, and fun
· How to present your abstract images for impactful, stunning wall art and more!
This session is always full of laughs, freedom, and creativity. It’s a great class for any level of photographer with any camera–even a mobile phone!
